tibetbook.net update 03.2012: sa cha’i ming btus

Posted on February 27th, 2012 by

The sa cha’i ming btus series  was published in the early 1980s and seems to have been published on a county base only in Sichuan. All the volumes are written in Chinese. The name registers usually are bilingual, some even trilingual with Yi or other minority languages. All titles are antiquarian and may have small deficiencies, bigger damage is noted in the file below. All issues have a section with color plates and have a map. Sometimes the map is missing, but then we can provide a digital copy (large > 4-20 MB jpg file). The sa cha’i ming btus series is a valuable resource on the areas with information on each township, historical information, extremely detailed place name indices, population and animal numbers. Especially maps in such detail are not known to me (different map scales, 1:150.000 to 1:500.000). All vols are antiquarian but in over all good condition. For more information, please see the pdf below.
